GEOMAR Participates in ParisMAT 2025: Strengthening Ties in the Global Marine & Aviation Insurance Ecosystem

GEOMAR Maritime Consultants & Surveyors proudly participated in the ParisMAT 2025 Annual Meeting, held on June 23–24, 2025, at the historic Maison de la Chimie in Paris. The event brought together over 900 key players from more than 40 countries, including insurers, brokers, surveyors, maritime lawyers, risk managers, and leading academics from the Marine & Aviation insurance sector.

Organized by CESAM, ParisMAT has become a landmark event for showcasing French expertise in marine and aviation insurance while fostering international collaboration. Since its inception in 2009, and its establishment in Paris in 2012, the annual rendezvous has served as a platform for discussing the most pressing challenges and innovations shaping the industry.

This year’s agenda addressed a broad spectrum of critical issues, including:

  • The global economic outlook and its implications for trade and transport.

  • Risks and solutions in transporting electric vehicles and lithium-ion batteries.

  • The impact of inflation on marine and aviation insurance.

  • Poseidon Principles and their practical applications in sustainability reporting.

  • Lessons learned from recent marine incidents and their influence on future risk management.

  • The emerging challenges of space weather, solar storms, and space surveillance for global logistics and sovereignty.

  • Specialized topics such as the transport of fine art and species.

As a member of the CESAM network of Average Agents and Surveyors, GEOMAR’s representatives actively engaged in these discussions, sharing insights from our extensive experience in cargo damage surveys, loss prevention strategies, and risk assessment services. Our participation underscores our commitment to staying at the forefront of industry trends, ensuring our clients benefit from cutting-edge knowledge and global best practices.

We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to Mr. Pascal DUBOIS, the Directeur Général of CESAM and Managing Director CESAM and Président of Loss Prevention Committee of IUMI, for kind invitation and the warm hospitality extended to our team at CESAM’s Paris office. This gesture reflects the strong professional bonds within the CESAM network and the shared commitment to advancing standards in marine and aviation insurance worldwide.

As international trade and transport continue to navigate complex risks, GEOMAR remains dedicated to supporting stakeholders worldwide with expertise tailored to today’s challenges.

We look forward to building on the connections and knowledge gained at ParisMAT 2025 to deliver even greater value to our clients and partners.
